Harts Barn Cookery School is all about cooking for all – all ages and skill levels are catered for, and we teach everything from banquets to basics!
We provide a huge range of regular classes, workshops, supper clubs and events plus we welcome group bookings, parties, corporate and private hire. All classes offer a hands-on element and focus on gaining practical skills and knowledge as well as being enjoyable!
We view cooking as an essential life skill. Our ethos of ‘cooking for all’ means that we offer classes that are accessible, practical, affordable, give confidence and are lots of fun. We believe in the ‘socialisation’ of food, bringing people together whether they are learning a new skill in the kitchen or sitting down and enjoying the soiree! As well as cookery classes we run regular events, pop up restaurants, a Hire-A-Chef service, and provide parties, corporate packages, chef demos and have a wonderful earth oven, fire pit and large courtyard area for outdoor cooking experiences.

Great experience. Good venue with all ingredients and utensils provided. Plenty of hobs to cook on. Chef was clear and explained and demonstrated how to cook all the recipes. Great that you could taste your own food there and take the remainder home. Would definitely recommend.

The course was very interactive and no shortage of ingredients to make and mix your preferred recipe. The student/chef ration is such that everybody gets the opportunity to experience all aspects of the process.
Best of all you get to keep your sausages for tea

We had a great time at the fermentation class - the venue is lovely, set among the hills with a fab view from the classroom. The teachers were excellent, really knowledgeable and happy to share their thoughts and lots of tasters of different things they'd fermented. We learnt about the process and lots of great tips. We made sauerkraut, chilli and tomato sauce, dill cucumbers and preserved lemons - all with the flexibility to choose our own herbs and spices. We really enjoyed the class and are hoping to book some more cooking experiences there in the future!

What a great fun class for everyone to try at home. Super easy but amazingly rewarding. I had an 12.00am Sunday morning workshop and even I was able to produce a pretty fancy batch of chocolates.
Loads of yummy chocolate, great additional ingredients. All I needed was some baking paper, a few spoons and bowls and a microwave.
Hubby loved his box of valentine's chica but I didn't tell him about the lollies and jazzies. There enough to go round!
