My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our first Ikebana class with Joyce and her husband. The jasmine tea was absolutely delicious! We found the introduction to the history and principles of Ikebana very interesting. Creating our own arrangements was a relaxing and mindful experience, and Joyce’s guidance throughout the session was excellent. She provided feedback on each of our designs, which really helped us appreciate the creativity and intention behind Ikebana. Thank you both for such an enjoyable and memorable class. We’re looking forward to returning soon for another session!

A beautiful studio welcomed us upon entry. The teacher, Joyce, introduced the lesson perfectly, with an overview of the lesson and the Ohara school of ikebana.
Joyce was extremely friendly, showing us how to achieve the criteria of Ohara.
Provided a wide range of flowers and foliage to experiment with.
I would return 100%.

My husband and I really enjoyed our introduction to Ikebana with Joyce and her husband, Leo. The environment was quiet and peaceful with beautiful flowers to choose from and gentle guidance and feedback from Joyce. It was wonderful to witness her creations and see Ikebana done by a master. We will be back for more classes and would certainly recommend.

I came with my mum. We both have a keen interest in flowers. It was amazing to learn the art of Ikebana from Joyce and her assistant Chloe. We started off learning the history of Ikebana then watched Joyce demonstrate then had a go ourselves, whilst enjoying some tea. The studio was relaxed and Joyce and Chloe were approachable and informative. We will be booking on again to learn a different form of Ikebana. Loved every minute!

I attended the first class of the Ikebana Introductory Course involving a presentation, demonstration and hands on practice to create my own floral display. The host, Joyce and her assistant, Chloe, were very friendly and encouraging. The atmosphere felt relaxed and I enjoyed the Chinese tea too. Overall, an informative and very enjoyable session.

I've wanted to try out Ikebana for a long time and this hour and a half session was perfect! We learned all about the history of Ikebana, enjoyed a Chinese tea, had a demonstration then got to try it out for ourselves! We made simple arrangements which were then kindly critiqued and improved upon by Joyce. It was incredibly fun and relaxing, and I already want to do it again!

Amazing experience learning the art of Ikebana! The teacher is exceptionally skilled and wonderfully guides you through the practice. I could spend hours in this calm atmosphere which felt like a ceremony including the serving of traditional tea upon arrival. As a bonus I even received professional photos of me during the class and my floral arrangements - I could also take my flowers home to practice more! Truly recommend

I have always wanted to experience an Ikebana class and was so pleased to discover one locally. The studio was beautifully decorated. The lesson was very therapeutic and calming. Sometimes, I am afraid to try new things because I am harsh with myself if I am not immediately good at it and I was concerned I would end up feeling bad about myself like I usually do but it was such a warm, calming lesson it was difficult to feel anything else but pure joy!

I booked this session as a Valentine's gift for my husband as he loves Japan and we like to try new things together instead of buying more "stuff"
Joyce the teacher and Chloe, her assistant/translator were very welcoming and knowledgeable.
Walking into the studio is like walking into a breath of fresh air and we left completely relaxed, after having an hour and a half of a lovely mindful Ikebana class.
I particularly liked how Joyce gave us individual feedback on our creations at the end.

it was valentines and i wanted to treat myself to a solo date.
joyce’s husband first gave us a background info on ikebena which was good to know the history and stuff. then joyce gave us a demo for us to follow. after we had our attempts, sh then gave us feedback, she was so sweet and encouraging. the materials were provided for us and we received packaging to carry the flowers home. would defo go again to complete further classes.

My daughter and I attended the class on Saturday morning and we both enjoyed it immensely. The work area was set out beautifully which set the scene for a totally relaxing and enjoyable session.
Our hosts were lovely and knowledgeable, we started the session with a short presentation, setting out the theory, we then spent the rest of the session practicing with the beautiful flowers.
We are both hooked on Ikebana and hope to take further classes with Joyce.

I attended the ikebana flower arranging class as a creative break. The class focused on the basics of ikebana, including the equiptment and structure envoking natural lines, and balance, arranging with intention rather than abundance. The teacher was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about ikebana. They explained the cultural background behind the practice while giving gentle, encouraging guidance as we worked. All materials were provided, and the flowers and tools were high quality and well prepared. I left feeling relaxed, accomplished, and inspired to continue practicing ikebana on my own.
