In this textiles class at the Carey on Crafting festival, you will discover the ancient craft of drop spindle spinning, one of the oldest tools known to humanity. Through the use of a drop spindle, you'll unlock the skills of twisting and plying fibres, strengthening them, and expanding their potential uses.
  • Delve into various types of wool and explore different techniques for preparing wool fibres for spinning.
  • Master the drop spindle itself and the art of spinning thread.
