Dried Flowers Workshop

Learn the art of drying and arranging everlasting flowers

5 hours Class size 1 to 20 guests       £180

Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of dried flowers with all of their muted tones, colours, textures, and scent ranging from seed pods, dried grasses, foliages, sculptural forms, and dried heads. Participants will learn how to create two dried flower arrangements; a handtied bouquet and a wreath in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of two floristry techniques. Focus on adding gestural, textured and focal flowers to weave together your own seasonal arrangements, encapsulating the full flower growing year in an everlasting circle and wild bouquet. You will finish each of the designs with your choice of our botanically dyed ribbons, wrapped in tissue and presentation box.
The workshop will also include a comprehensive session on how to dry flowers effectively including all of the knowledge, tips and tricks that we have developed over the years including effective drying and storage techniques for different types of flowers. Participants will also learn which flowers to grow for drying with a full guide on how to develop your own dried flower garden at home.
Dried flowers are timeless and beautiful and can be displayed in vases or as wreaths, clouds, swags, and much more. They bring warmth, texture, scent, and interest into your home, and are a sustainable way to enjoy flowers all year round.
If you are new to dried flowers and floristry; this workshop is designed to be welcoming and inclusive for all skill levels. You'll be guided through the process step by step, learning effective drying and storage techniques along the way.
What you'll get

Days of Dahlia is a flower farm and flower school based in the countryside of South West Scotland near Glasgow. Run by mother and daughter, Lauren and Louisina who work side-by-side growing flowers, designing and teaching their own unique, sustainable and artistic techniques to budding florists from around the UK and the world. We have four decades of experience in the floral industry from retail to event floristry to horticulture and growing. As Industry Leaders representing Scotland for the Sustainable Floristry Network, we are now accredited Sustainable Florists by the CPD Certification Service. Our style is wild, natural and seasonal with every arrangement telling a story about the land in which it was grown and the season from which it came. We pride ourselves on growing all the ingredients for our workshops. We sow, grow, nurture, and harvest thousands of stems of beautiful, rare and scented flowers that you can't find anywhere else. Our sustainable floristry workshops provide support and inspiration in developing an individual floral style and we encourage our students to develop confidence and flair by building their skills and experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your floristry arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful.
