doppiocotto

Doppiocotto was founded in 2013 by Bora Cetin, a ceramic artist deeply passionate about his craft, dedicating long hours to shaping each piece by hand.Focusing on form and material, Doppiocotto produces modern, original, and finely crafted pieces. The brand explores the harmony of contrasts by adding movement to simple forms and stillness to dynamic shapes, incorporating a playful touch to bring joy to people’s everyday lives. The story behind the brand name comes from the Italian word 'Doppiocotto' which means 'double-cooked', linked with the production process. The clay goes through two firing processes. After the shaping phase comes the drying and baking phase. This is called biscuit. Then the glaze is applied on it and it is fired again. This is how the finished product is reached.Bora CetinCeramic artist based in Waterloo, London. He began his artistic journey in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Ceramics and Glass in Izmir, Turkiye. In 2013, he moved to Istanbul and founded Doppiocotto. The city's dynamic blend of ancient and modern elements added new depth to his art.
