Deep Buttoned Upholstery Workshop

Choose this full-day furniture upholstery workshop if you'd like to make your own footstool or bench! As well as learning to the technique of deep-buttoning. This craft class is ideal if you'd like a taster into the world of upholstery.

A wonderful way to unleash your creativity, this upholstery class is hosted by an experienced teacher in a beautiful Cheshire studio. You will learn about the tools and materials needed for upholstery.

The size of your finished furniture will be approximately:
Stool – 50cm wide x 40cm deep x 49cm high
Storage Crate – 50cm wide x 40cm deep x 38cm high
Footstool – 50cm wide x 40cm deep x 29cm high
Bench – 90cm wide x 40cm deep x 49cm high
Large Footstool – 66cm wide x 48cm deep x 29cm high

Warwick Amantheon Wool

Don't worry if you haven't tried upholstery before, this workshop is perfect for beginners or for those with some experience looking to expand their skills.

As part of your craft class, you will learn to:

• Staple elasticated webbing and hessian to a wooden frame in preparation for your deep buttoned footstool.
• Prepare the foam for deep buttoning including marking out the foam, drilling holes, and applying dacron.
• Prepare your fabric including marking out for buttoning, measuring and cutting the fabric.
• Plan where the buttons will go.
• Make your own fabric buttons.
• Apply the buttons. Finish the peice with double pleated corners.
• Finish and fix the legs to your stool.

With classes sizes of no more than six people, you will get lots out of the day. Your teacher will supply you with all the tools and materials you need, including a metre of fabric from the fabulous Warwick Amatheon Wool range which retails at £40 per metre.

This fun and creative upholstery workshop is held in your teacher's wonderful workshop, a converted Methodist Chapel, in Scholar Green nestled in the peaceful Cheshire countryside. The class will start at 9.30am finishing at approximately 4.30 or 2.45pm depending on the furniture you choose to make.

Hot drinks are included throughout the day. You will need to bring your own packed lunch with you.
