Loved the classes I have had here - glass fusion, clay jewellery and today’s seascape bubble glass hanging. Well informed and instructed by the tutor- it’s a fun class with something beautifully made at the end (my photo is pre fired!)

Fused Glass Coaster Workshop

A Christmas gift from my husband which I’ve been really looking forward to.
Relaxed and happy, in the lovely makers space at Penarth Library. Clear tuition from Cathie. Such an incredible variety of pieces made, very diverse and all very desirable.
I loved the opportunity to make such a lovely keepsake.

This is now the 4th Glass By Design workshop I have attended and as usual, they are wonderfully well organised classes. Both Angelina and Cathy are fantastic hosts. I would describe myself as someone who is more enthusiastic than creative but with Cathy's patient support I think I might have created a coaster that I will be proud of. What I particularly like about their workshops is the relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere. The encouragement you receive is great and they are very generous with their advice and suggestions. Getting to decorate the little bird was a much appreciated extra. This might have been my 4th workshop, it won't be my last.

Contemporary Kintsugi Gilding Workshop

Needle Felting Class: Fox

Spent a lovely morning with the very talented Susanne making a fox. I learnt some new techniques and tricks to I prove my needle felting hobby.
Susanne was warm and welcoming and generous with her advice. Thorougly recommended. I will definitely be back

Starting from zero knowledge we were taken step by step instruction and hands onnoractice through cutting, copper foiling, assembly, soldering and finishing in a very small class so Angelina was able to support each individual. By the end of the day we were indeed proud of our finished panels and inspired to learn more. Friendly, well planned and resourced and a lunch at a local cafe. Highly recommended.

Daffodil Glass Painting Class

This was a brilliant day. Angelina was a superb teacher, explaining everything and demonstrating everything really clearly and she was lovely and very encouraging. The materials were really well organised and we worked in a lovely studio. Delighted with my stained glass panel!

This was a birthday gift and such a lovely present as you get a beautiful keepsake at the end which is all your own work. It was a very calming environment and felt very relaxed. Even if you don’t think you are artistic or creative, you’ll easily get into this activity.

Thoroughly enjoyed the papier mache sculpture course in Penarth. The venue was great and an easy, short walk from the station. Debbie is an excellent instructor - she explains each stage really well and is happy to share her techniques. We were totally absorbed in the sculpting and it was a very relaxing two days! Her work is so inspiring. Thank you so much ️

The Stained Glass half day course was a birthday present from my wife who had already been to a Fused Glass course. Being an OAP I tend to think that all craft courses are expensive, particularly those where there are lots of people and all you get is a lecture. Here it was "hands on" and there were only 3 of us so we each had a lot of attention. We were shown each stage and advised what could go wrong if not done the correct way and helped if we did get it wrong - as I did once or twice! The teacher was great very friendly and encouraging. I got a lot of pleasure from it and in retrospect worth the cost.

Family Glass Making Workshop

Fantastic class. Cathy made us feel very welcome and supported. We really enjoyed being creative and making a lovely glass keepsake. I attended with my mother and daughter so it was a lovely activity to do together. Highly recommended.

It was a Christmas gift from my husband's mum who since giving it to us, has passed away. So it was really lovely to have enjoyed the workshop and have a beautiful keepsake to remember her. Well set up & prepared space, good choice of coloured glass, helpful instruction. We all finished just after an hour so it would have been nice to possibly make another one to use more of the 2 hrs. Not sure what it cost so I sense it was a good value workshop. We loved how mindful it was and got us into a lovely zone.

A birthday present for a friend who chose the fused glass 1/2 day. Booking process and communication very good. Lovely light spacious modern venue and everything was explained clearly and loads of support during making process. Masses of choice in materials and colours. We made our dichroic fused glass pendants in a 2 hour workshop. Tutoring and materials were first class. Great value for money. We would certainly go again. I can't wait to pick them up from the fusing kiln.

The course was excellent. Cathy had a lovely natural teaching style. She was very informative and knowledgeable. She taught the group the skills needed to not only produce a fabulous piece of work on the day, but that would be the foundations of good practice if we wanted to continue to do more glass fusing in the future.
All of the pieces made were unique, and participants were able to create very personal pieces of work.
Cathy had just the right balance of leaving us do things ourself but helping when needed.

Very talented teacher who was generous in passing on her knowledge and experience.
Lovely intimate venue with all materials, coffee and food provided. A friendly and enjoyable experience that took place over two days which was just right. You learn a huge amount watching and being helped by the artist. The close contact with the artist, being able to ask zillions of questions is what l enjoyed most. I made three papier-mâché sculptures that l was able to take home (with any left over clay). Excellent value for money in my opinion.

I so enjoyed this class. Lovely venue with a warm welcome from the staff. Debbie was a fantastic and enthusiastic teacher who invested a great deal of time in sharing her amazing talent and passion for sculpturing. Very friendly atmosphere. Clear explanation of use of tools and materials, all of which were provided. Choice of projects to work on. Advice, suggestions and encouragement given by the teacher, Angelina, throughout as we took our individual designs from the planning and design stage to the finished pieces ready for firing in the kiln. Excited to pick up my tea light Santa in around 10 days time. Thank you for a very relaxing, enjoyable and productive experience.

Needle Felting Picture Workshop

As soon as we arrived, the three of us, we had a very warm welcome with tea and coffee provided. We were given a quick lesson on how to handle the glass and then our lesson began. It was a very enjoyable hour and a half and we have a lovely (hopefully) glass to treasure for all time. I'm going to purchase a gift card for my daughter for Christmas.
