This cooking workshop begins with an introductory talk on the history of Chinese cooking and how it has developed over the years. Then, it'll be time to get making!

Don't worry if you're a cooking newbie, this laid-back cooking class will guide you using simple step-by-step instructions and you'll get plenty of on-hand help from your teacher. You'll learn how to prepare your ingredients, how to create the famous Kung Po sauce and how to cook a great version of this delicious dish.

At the end of your London cooking class, you'll be able to sit down to eat the dish you have made together or take it home with you to enjoy later.

Your teacher

We are a wife-and-husband team running a small shop called Oriental Food at north London. Shop sells cooking ingredients mainly focused on Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

The shop is not big enough to be a one-stop shopping destination. Therefore we choose the food we like to introduce to local community.

For a while, we found out some cooking books misunderstand or not clear explained lots ingredients. It made customers confused. We started to cook dishes and sell in the shop. All ingredients are used from the shop. All dishes are followed authentic tastes. If customers like the dish, we will show them what have been used.

We enjoy to share our cooking skills with customers. As the dishes get popular, we started selling fresh prepared bentos in Oriental Food. Now we are also doing local delivery and you can find us on UberEats, Deliveroo, etc.

More and more people come to ask how to cook the dishes. Here comes the cooking classes. Customers can learn how to make the most popular bentos in Oriental Food now. We are lovely to talk with. We share our authentic cooking techniques as well as modern trends. So you can make a perfect Chinese, Japanese and Korean food too.

We had a lovely time with Simon and Hannah. We were served refreshing unlimited green tea and covid precautions were followed religiously. Simon was very knowledgeable about the background and ingredients of the dish. The cooking was very straightforward and tasted delicious. The class itself was an hour rather than an hour and half as advertised. The ingredients came pre cut so had we cut them ourselves it would have taken a bit more time and added to the experience. Following the cooking you have the option to eat your food. Simon and Hannah left us to it and sat in the corner on their phones. Again it would have added to the experience had they chatted to us some more or played some music. Overall we had a great time and would recommend this class to Kung Po Chicken lovers.
