Explore traditional Chinese cuisine and learn to make dumplings in this fun cooking workshop.

Guided by your expert teacher, you'll use egg to make a dumpling skin - this is a really popular dish in Chinese New Year celebrations and your teacher will tell you all about this as you cook.

Working alongside other beginners, you'll learn to prepare your egg liquid and filling - using the traditional ingredients of pork and water chestnuts, or opting for a vegetarian alternative. You'll also learn how to steam your dumplings and wrap them whilst hot.

By the end of your cooking class, you'll have an authentic Chinese dish to enjoy there and then or take home to share with your family and friends. You'll also have some great cooking skills to use for future Chinese feasting!

Your teacher

We are a husband and wife team running a small shop called Oriental Food at north London. Shop sells cooking ingredients mainly focused on Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

The shop is not big enough to be a one-stop shopping destination. Therefore the we choose the food we like to introduce to local community.

For a while, we found out some cooking books misunderstand or not clear explained lots ingredients. It made customers confused. We started to cook dishes and sell in the shop. All ingredients are used from the shop. All dishes are followed authentic tastes. If customers like the dish, we will show them what have been used.

We enjoy to share our cooking skills with customers. As the dishes get popular, we started selling fresh prepared bentos in Oriental Food. Now we are also doing local delivery and you can find us on UberEats, Deliveroo, etc.

More and more people come to ask how to cook the dishes. Here comes the cooking classes. Customers can learn how to make the most popular bentos in Oriental Food now. We are lovely to talk with. We share our authentic cooking techniques as well as modern trends. So you can make a perfect Chinese, Japanese and Korean food too.
