Christmas Pottery Workshop – Make Your Own Wreath or Pair of Holly
Join us for a creative clay sculpture and hand building class in Northampton, where you'll learn how to sculpt a beautiful colourful pottery wreath or a pair of holly, adding intricate textures and details to bring your unique piece to life. There are endless helpful tools on hand to guide you through the process, and you'll have complete freedom to create, paint, and decorate your piece however feels right, whether that's adding berries, holly, flowers, or a couple of adorable birds.
This class is perfect for complete beginners and experienced potters alike. Throughout the workshop I'll guide you every step of the way, so it's a focused learning experience but also a lot of fun, and a lovely chance to meet like-minded creative people and enjoy the journey together. For a few hours, the class becomes a bit of a sanctuary where you can forget about your worries and just get lost in the joy of making something with your hands.
By the end you'll take home a finished piece to display proudly, though please note that ribbon and gold lustre application aren't included this time. Your artwork will need to be collected from my Home Studio two to three weeks later, once it's been through the bisque and glaze firing process.
With love, Marika

Hi, I'm Marika, a self-taught ceramic artist based in the picturesque county of Northamptonshire.
What started as a hobby has grown into a thriving hand-building pottery studio — classes now fill up fast, and the waiting list keeps growing. I've taught hundreds of beginners and more advanced students the hand-building techniques I love most, always leaning into quirky, fun and colourful projects along the way.
I also run private classes for small groups of up to eleven — perfect for birthday parties, unique hen dos, team building days, or family Christmas get-togethers. Whatever you're celebrating, I'll tailor the session to suit your group.
Every student creation gets carefully placed on the drying shelf, then loaded into my faithful Rohde Ecotop kiln for a bisque and glaze fire. I look after each piece as if I'd made it with my own hands — because every piece is special, and deserves individual love and care.
I spent many years as a full-time art teacher in secondary schools, and I love bringing that same patience and encouragement into my studio. My classes are easy to follow, relaxing, fun, and confidence-building.
I also host private group sessions for celebrations of all kinds — get in touch to find out more
Once you start working with clay, you can't stop :)
