Every week we have abandoned artwork left at our studio and unfortunately, we don't have the space to keep it all!
So we have decided to give these artworks a new life with our upcycling session. You can come and choose from a selection of sprayed canvases that have been left. They have been sprayed over with coloured spray paints and are good to be repainted.
We are running as a coffee shop throughout the day and a bar in the evening.
Please note: This is a free flow unguided class. You won't have a teacher on hand to teach you any skills.
The class lasts up to 2.5 hours, but of course you can come and go when you wish.

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

Upcycling canvas workshop (no teacher). great experience. the canvases, although previously used, were perfectly fine to repaint on and plenty of material available. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were super nice. My daughter was celebrating her birthday with a bunch of friends and they had a ball! Highly recommended. ????

Our session was independent and not tutor led (which is what I wanted and booked for) and I enjoyed it! It’s very busy, so I definitely recommend booking in advance.
Be aware that it can be a bit loud as the classes go on at the same time and it’s all on one floor
Our host/server (apologies I didn’t get his name) was very nice and welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience (thank you!)
Overall, the experience was fun and you get to take your art home

Went for the Upcycling canvas option - really lovely space, materials and staff who give you the space to release your inner creative!
Luxury Hot chocolate is also luxurious (hint: it's chocolate bits melted in milk) and great in this weather

Great setting. Kids did a canvas upcycling painting session, as a group of 5-8 year olds. Really enjoyed and could take their art home. Had some issues booking, this could be improved. Otherwise, many of the kids and parents will be back.

Took the children in today (aged 2 & 4) to do the recycled canvas painting.
Both enjoyed it and the 4 year old asked me if we can come back again.
So that's a win!
Will be looking to book some Halloween crafts with them next.

It's a beautiful huge light space with lots of free supplies to get creative.
We went for the upcycling session which is freestyle. It's amazing value for money and a generally fun time spent.

Lovely airy venue that provided a good choice of materials. Paints can be mixed, despite, as some reviews say, colour range being limited - mixing them is part of the fun! I attended the unguided session and got the peace and therapeutic benefit from painting, which is why I chose to do it.

The entire experience was an amazing. I booked this for two of my young persons, one of which is autistic but he enjoyed every bit of it. The ambiance was nice, the place was clean and well layed out, and materials made available.

It was a very enjoyable experience, well worth the money! I decided to join the up cycling workshop and loved it. All the tutors present were lovely.
The venue was lovely and the lady explaining everything was so friendly and helpful.
Materials provided were plentiful and varied.
We had a ton of fun and the price was very reasonable, would definitely recommend this to others!
