It was very good and started promptly as well. It's an intimate setting with only 4 people taking part - so if you're looking for a larger group activity, look somewhere else. It was very enjoyable, and the teachers were constantly there for tips & help.
You get to keep two of the bowls you make. You have 4 goes to make it work. They will fire and paint for you to pick up later.

It was my girlfriend’s birthday and we had a private 1-1 lesson. She wanted to make a matcha bowl and a cup to go with it. Our teacher was amazing!! So detailed and helpful with every step of the way. The studio was so cutee, it felt like we transported to a studio ghibli film ️ I think because it was the weekend, there were cats there but they were so so adorable and kept me entertained while my girlfriend was making her pottery hahaha.
We loved everything about it, we’ll definitely come back again :) it was the best part of our day~

I would strongly recommend anyone that is looking for a fun and relaxed outings or simply want to unleash your inner creativity to come here (ideally with friends to double triple the fun!).
The workshop is very organised with more than enough colors to choose from than any other ceramic workshops I have been to (pretty colors too!) The instructor went above and beyond to always be there, answering / helping us with all the questions patiently to make sure we have every thing and coaching we need.
Can’t wait to come back again!!

Such a lovely experience!
The class was brilliant from start to finish. The instructor was warm, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel at ease. The studio itself is such a cute, intimate space – it felt more like hanging out with friends than taking a class. I really enjoyed the process of handbuilding and loved what I made. Would absolutely recommend this as a creative, feel-good way to spend a few hours.

Such a memorable time here at Pon Studio.
The hosts are generous, knowledgeable, kind and caring. Before the class, they send out a very clear pdf with a map and entry instructions (worth reading before visiting!)
The studio space is warm, well organised and home to two lovely cats who greeted us while we played with clay. The hosts are present in the studio, working on other things, we could ask questions when unsure and felt very at ease and free to create. They played music at a gentle level and the lighting was soft which helped reinforce the comfort.
The class began with introductions followed by a simple, clear and instructive demonstration on 2 hand building techniques- pinching and slab building.
We were then given our 1kg balls of stoneware clay and invited to look around the studio at the pieces from other sessions for inspiration. As we began, we had plenty of time to think and rethink our projects. There was no enforcement of mug making which is one of the reasons I chose this class.
We were lucky enough to be the only group present on the day and enjoyed the spaciousness the hosts and studio offered.
The hosts checked in on us during the session and offered extra time for us to complete the final smoothing/additions to our pieces.
When finished, we were given the glaze tiles and the hosts explained how this step works and showed examples from around the studio to help us decide on colours. Our work was photographed and the glazing requests were added to them. This is a great system and meant we were all on the same page.
I spent a lot of time researching studios and classes before choosing this one. I am so grateful for the hosts and recommend this class for a beautiful afternoon with loved ones.

Myself and four friends recently had an awesome day at Pon Studio for their mug making class, and will be recommending the class to friends and family.
The class began with a concise, easy to follow lesson on how to build a mug and from then on, we were encourage to be creative, try new ideas and see where they took us.
Despite the class being advertised as mug making, we had booked the class with the intention to try and create a few things that we'd seen around the web and our creativity was absolutely encouraged by our teacher, who gave us tips and instruction on how to achieve the pieces that we'd seen.
The class is held in a cool studio in East London and the class is typically 3 hours, although our teachers suggested there was no rush to leave, and accomodated us almost an hour extra to finish off our designs.
The value for money is amazing considering Pon studio will fire your creations, paint and glaze them (and post to you if needed!) - we're very excited to see how everything turns out in the end.
Like mentioned before, we highly recommend the class to anyone thinking about trying pottery, working with clay or has a creative urge to make something.

My teachers were super friendly and such good company. I arrived a bit late due to the trains but they were super understanding! My main teacher Ray (Not sure how it’s spelled?!) walked me through the whole process and then allowed me to go at my own pace by myself. They give you so much creative freedom whilst providing you with guidance and helpful tips in what you want to create - something I really appreciated. I came by myself, and was a bit worried that it would be a bit awkward haha but the conversation was great and super chill and I felt so comfortable! The venue was beautiful too :) I would definitely recommend for a small group of friends or even a solo activity like I did.
