Celebrate the beauty of the natural world and create your own botanical-inspired pottery in this relaxing, beginner-friendly clay workshop.
Using hand-building and slab-building techniques, you'll design and create a beautiful pot, planter, lantern, or decorative vessel adorned with botanical textures and patterns. Choose from our collection of leaf stamps, floral cutters, and natural-inspired tools, or bring along your own dried flowers, leaves, or foliage to press directly into the clay and create truly personal designs.
As you work, you'll learn how to shape, construct, and decorate clay while exploring different ways to capture the delicate details of nature. Whether you prefer elegant floral patterns, bold leaf impressions, or a wild garden-inspired design, your finished piece will be completely unique.
Our experienced instructor will guide you through every stage of the process, making this workshop suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to develop their pottery skills. With high-quality materials and plenty of creative inspiration, you'll have everything you need to create something beautiful.
Working with clay and natural textures is a wonderfully mindful experience, allowing you to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the satisfaction of making something by hand.
Once fired, your finished piece will become a beautiful addition to your home, garden room, or windowsill, bringing a little touch of nature indoors all year round.
Please note that other clay workshops may be taking place at the same time as yours. While participants may be creating different items, all projects use the same slab-building techniques, so everyone will be learning and following the same core pottery-making process.
What you'll get

What to bring
Everything you need will be provided at the workshop, but please feel free to bring your own stamps or items you may want to impress into the clay, such as coins, leaves, pasta shapes, etc. Lace works particularly well. Playing with clay can be messy, but it will wash out of clothing. We advise you to wear old clothes or bring an apron. You don't need to bring your booking confirmation, as we will have a record of it.

Crafty Monkey, based in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, was founded in 2010 after Chrissy Bennett, the owner, attended a pottery painting workshop for her friend's hen party. From a one-man band, it has grown to employ 6 members of staff and is now open 7 days a week with monthly adult evenings, some of which are themed. The studio seats up to 40 people at a push, but you can book in anytime to come in and paint pottery from our extensive range. We have a party area that can comfortably seat 10 (12 people at a push).
We offer a range of things from pottery painting and build-a-bear to baby prints and 3D baby casts. We are able to tailor workshops to specific requests. You can book individual or group bookings with us - anything to suit your crafting needs! Depending on the group size and where it is, we may also be able to come out to you!
