Celebrate cycling and creativity in this hands-on linocut workshop at Station South in Manchester!
Inspired by Station South’s unique venue—a beautifully restored cycle café and community hub—this workshop invites you to create your own bicycle-themed print using the bold and beautiful linocut technique. It’s the perfect way to combine your love of cycling with creativity in a space that champions both.
In this step-by-step session, you’ll learn how to carve your unique design and print it by hand onto a selection of stunning Japanese and Western papers. Your experienced printmaker, Rachel Evans, will guide you every step of the way, making this workshop accessible and enjoyable for beginners and seasoned creatives alike.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with your own bike-themed linocut print and the skills to continue printmaking at home!

I'm an artist printmaker and life model based in Manchester city centre producing personal work as well as facilitating printmaking, life drawing and painting workshops regularly in Manchester. I absolutely love watching people explore the huge variety of printmaking techniques. In addition to the pure joy of creating, making something new boosts self esteem, relieves stress and anxiety, stimulates the mind, and helps us to interact with ourselves and our community in a different way than our usual day-to-day lives. Printmaking provides the opportunity to explore and communicate our thoughts, emotions and ideas in a fun and experimental way.
I teach regular printmaking workshops at The Village Hall, Deansgate Mews as well as private 1-2-1 sessions in my personal studio at Hidden. I also run workshops for other artists, corporate events and neighbourhood complexes. So Little Lion Studio is many things, but there is just me at it’s heart. Essentially, I am an artist and workshop facilitator providing a safe and encouraging space for people to come and feel comfortable creating, exploring, experimenting, talking, thinking and feeling.
