What you'll do
Come and join us for a relaxing morning and learn how to create beautiful lettering art with this calligraphy for beginners class in Chichester. Go from basic strokes to letter forms and onto words and phrases in no time.
Don't consider yourself a good drawer or someone with nice handwriting? Don't worry! As well as guiding the whole class with demonstrations and instructions, your friendly teacher will also be there to provide you with one-on-one tuition. Your teacher will build your confidence by gradually adding to your understanding of the techniques which make modern calligraphy so beautiful.
Modern calligraphy is about lettering that is dynamic and has energy, so rather than worrying about getting every letter identical, you can relax and have fun with it. Once you're feeling confident with the guided exercises, you can start getting creative by working on our lovely card templates.
Throughout the workshop you’ll learn about letterforms, use metallics, and try some colour blending. With these techniques in your repertoire, you'll soon be creating greeting cards, party invitations and artworks for your home and loved ones!
We have a small shop at our studio, stocking some of our favourite calligraphy supplies, including the items you will have used during your workshop so that you can continue your calligraphy journey at home!
