Settle in - Everything Provided
Get ready to create! Japanese clay and floral wires are the main materials you'll be using -- all provided for you during the lesson.
Make Your Sweet Peas
You'll use a stencil to make the first layer of petal, in your personalised colour! Next, you'll glue it to the floral wire.
Shape Your Flower
You will create the second layer of the petal. Then, you will shape a curve along the edge.
Finish the Flower
You will attach the first layer of petal to the second layer. Then, you will do the similar step for the third layer.
Make Your Carnation
You will construct the flower by attaching petal by petal.
Receptacle and Leaves (carnation)
You will make the receptacle and leaves. Then you will assemble them.
All Done
By the end, you'll have your completed bouquet of clay flowers* to take home and cherish or gift.
*total number of stems completed will depend on individual student progress
- In the morning, you’ll focus on material properties, clay tinting, and the precision shaping of petals using custom stencils; if time allows, creating receptacles.
- During the afternoon, you’ll learn expert methods for wiring and combining individual elements into a bouquet.
- You’ll be working with a premium Japanese resin-based air-dry clay, perfect for making realistic flowers and accessories.
