Aluminium Jewellery Summer School

Learn how to create a variety of stunning effects for contemporary jewellery using anodized aluminum.

3 x 6 hours Class size 1 to 2 guests       £335

In this lively three-day Aluminium Jewellery Summer School, you will learn how to create a variety of stunning effects for contemporary jewellery using anodised aluminium, a fascinating and diverse material that is lightweight and will keep its bright colours over time.
In preparation for this specially expanded Aluminium Masterclass, Trisha has been down to London for CPD training with master of aluminium Lindsey Mann. She has a whole load of new stamping, image transfer, dip dyeing and forming techniques to show you, including a very exciting new sublimation printing technique for transferring images onto your aluminium. This course also includes tuition on cold connection techniques, such as riveting and tab setting, to help you assemble your colourful creations into wearable jewellery. You will focus on how to achieve a variety of decorative colouring effects to make lots of samples, and you will be encouraged to experiment and explore the material’s capabilities before moving on to finished pieces.
Projects can be tailored by the tutor to suit your jewellery-making experience. In addition to cold connections, basic jewellery-making techniques such as cutting, shaping, drilling, and disc cutting will be covered.
What you'll get
You can expect to leave the course with a good set of samples, a small collection of completed jewellery, and the confidence to continue exploring the subject at home. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience who wish to experiment further with this vibrant and versatile material.
