If you're keen to take a deeper look into mandala art, then this four-week course in Coalpit Heath, just north of Bristol, is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills. You'll learn a number of pattern elements and techniques, how to mix colours, and create 2-3 items over the four weeks. This is an investment in your creativity, giving you skills you'll keep using long after the class.
Here's how the course is planned to help you develop your practice:
Week 1: Introduction and Exploration
  • Welcome and overview – You'll receive an introduction to the workshop.
  • Introduction to mandala art – Learn a little about the history of mandala art and various examples from different parts of the world over time.
  • Beginner piece – You'll work with 4-6 pattern elements of dots and swooshes.
  • Project planning – You'll chose and mix the colours for your 30cm diameter mandala and paint the base colour.
Week 2: Building and Creation
  • Hands-on creation– starting your mandala with making gridlines and starting to dot!
  • Guidance and support – Receive individualised assistance and tips on technique and design.
  • Mid-course review – Check-in to address any challenges and refine techniques.
Week 3: Continuing with your mandala
Personalised feedback – Receive one-on-one guidance to enhance and finalise project details.
Week 4: Completing your mandala and creating a smaller piece (a coaster, book mark or pebble) to compliment or contrast (choose your own colours!)
Post-workshop: Once your piece is dried, the gridlines will be removed, and the item will be varnished.
You'll finish this course feeling knowledgeably enriched and walk away with bespoke pieces you'll want to show off.
What you'll get
Attendees will receive the 2-3 pieces of artwork they create during the session.
Knowledge required
Completion of a beginners workshop (one of the 2 hour workshops with SeraVida Art), and a desire to learn and join the little community!
What to bring
Please wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on, or an apron. If you already have dotting tools, please bring them. Tools will be provided for use during the workshops.
Session repeats

I teach mandala art by doing mindful, easy to follow workshops to relax and unwind.
I fell in love with Mandala art when going through stressful times in my life, both at work and at home, and found the calm, mindful nature of mandala art helped me so much. My passion is to share that with others, so that you too will know the benefits of this beautiful art form.
Based just outside Bristol, the workshops are all local and face to face in friendly and relaxed environments.
My name is Vicky, the creator of SeraVida Art, and I run all the workshops. Check out my Instagram and Facebook pages @seravidaart for examples of my work and photos and videos of past workshops.
All the materials are provided, and you will go home with something you have made and will be proud of!
I also run private workshops - please contact me if interested.
