This is a wonderful space! Abi and Emma are super knowledgeable and friendly - no question is too silly. They were very good at teaching sewing skills that would be useful for a range of projects. It's simultaneously a relaxed environment but came away having covered loads.

I booked a class with abi as my old body is mis-shaped, nothing fitted me.I want to learn how to alter patterns to fit.Had a brilliant time, learnt loads an abi was patient, she took her time to explain. I would recommend Stitch And Sew for all your sewing needs.

I went for a private class with Abi where I chose to make a cushion cover. The session started with learning more about using a sewing machine and started doing some straight stitches.Abi was very patient and explained all very well to me: how to measure, iron, cut, pin my fabric, etc.It was a very relaxed session which I enjoyed a lot and Abi made it very pleasant. I didn’t realise the time was flying buy and even went over my allotted time (thank you for the patience again, Abi)!Would definitely recommend and return for more practice!

Abbi & Sam were excellent; could easily have stayed all day! Super helpful & friendly and all equipment supplied. Loved that they also shared what we would need to start a home set up. Would highly recommend and will be looking to attend again x

I’d never really used a sewing machine before, but at this workshop, I learned how to wind a bobbin, thread it up, and make stitches. Now I actually feel pretty comfortable using the machine! The atmosphere of the workshop was fantastic! Abi and Emma were so friendly and helpful. I had a great time!

I had a lovely day with Abi and Emma at the beginner’s sewing workshop. There were 8 people on the course and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. We learnt how to sew buttons on and make a tote bag. Abi explained things clearly and there was plenty of time to ask questions, try things out (and get them wrong and try again!). I booked the course as a refresher because it’s been a long time since I used my sewing machine and I now feel more confident that ever.

Thank you for an enjoyable day of mastering my sewing machine and learning the fundamentals of starting my sewing journey. My day began with me being too daunted to even try to turn on my sewing machine , and I ended the day by making a bag from scratch! I’m so proud! I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this beginners sewing course. Abi and Em were so friendly, helpful and so so knowledgeable. I learned all about my machine and they showed such patience with us all.I cannot believe I threaded up my machine correctly, cut out a template, sewed a straight line and made a tote bag. It was such an achievement and I am so looking forward to practising my newly acquired skills and looking forward to the next course.Highly recommend. The biggest of thank yous to you both. Alex

The class was amazing, there were a mix of ages which is always nice. Abi is an excellent teacher, and covered a whole range of sewing subjects. Great tips and great advice. Plenty of support for the making of the tote bag, everyone was really proud of their creation, and it was really nice to come home with something you have made.I would have no hesitation in recommending this class - and I look forward to attending future classes.

Processes were explained well to take into account the difference in knowledge/ ability. Plus interesting and useful pieces of advice. Teacher was very good and did not make anyone feel uncomfortable or unable to ask questions. Would recommend.

This was a great beginners class, it was so lovely to be able to learn in a group. The fabulous teachers are always on hand. It was a great laugh and the people were very friendly. Wish there were more classes like this to help assist with continued learning. Look forward to attending more sessions in the future.

Fabulous interactive day. Abby and Emma were full of helpful tips, sharing their extensive knowledge and all with huge amounts of patience. I learnt what equipment I needed and what to avoid. The Hawaiian Shirt Sewing Session was an absolutely enriching and rewarding experience! I learned so much in just one session—especially when it came to understanding patterns, using interfacing, and gaining clarity on the structure and purpose of yokes and darts. The way the tutors broke down these elements really helped me grasp how they contribute to the overall fit and shape of the shirt, something I had previously found confusing.The session was packed with tailoring terminology and technical detail—it was intense, but in the most exciting way. Every part of the process felt like a deep dive into real garment construction, and the learning curve made it all the more satisfying. Despite the intensity, it was genuinely so much fun—engaging, dynamic, and filled with moments of discovery.Abi & Emma were exceptional—very, very knowledgeable and always available to offer help, encouragement, and hands-on support. Their passion for sewing and their patience made a huge impact on the learning environment.Overall, this session was a perfect blend of education and enjoyment. Create, Stitch and Play with Experimental Textiles
We had a smashing day at Abi's lovely studio experimenting with lots of different textile techniques. I've done a few of Abi's courses over the years and always come away feeling inspired. We learnt about colour theory, how to draw patterns with a sewing machine, how to build different textures using layers of fabric and how to melt away layers using a heat gun. Abi has so much experience and knowledge and is such a great teacher. I've come away feeling full of ideas and ready to carry on practicing at home. Thank you, Abi for a brilliant day

Such a wonderful time I had! Abi is such a beautiful soul, great teacher with an amazing sense of humour!Along side the bright spirit Amanda(sorry if forgot the name) they help us with our learning. I was lucky that my group was great so a cherry on the cake ️Abi is patient, attentive and doesn’t mind repeating again and mostly makes you feel at ease.I love my tote bag and all the nuggets of advice i received and ready to use my sewing machine!I definitely would recommend the class, if you are a beginner and looking for a friendly and fun learning place Thanks a lot ladies, Ndona
