What you'll do
If you care about wildlife and biodiversity, then this craft class is perfect for you. Build a bug hotel with us, it is a great addition to your garden.
A bug hotel will contribute to a diverse and dynamic ecosystem in your garden or outdoor space. It's a safe haven for all kinds of creatures and encourages wildlife. It's a productive thing to do at home that is not only fun for everyone but is helping out the environment.
This online class is a perfect opportunity to teach your kids about the natural world around them. Explore the reasons why indigenous wildlife needs our help and how important it is to look after nature. It's an amazing children's activity where they can learn and have fun doing it.
You will receive a craft kit complete with all materials, instructions on how to make them, and clear guidance on how to position your finished beautiful Bug Hotel. Your friendly teacher will also give advice on foraging for additional materials to include in your DIY project.
Once you have installed your Bug Hotel on a sunny wall, watch insects start to use the canes to lay their eggs and seal up the holes using mud or leaf litter.
