Macramé Wall Hanging Class

Learn how to make a unique macramé wall hanging at this hands-on Buckinghamshire workshop

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 (public classes), 4 to 10 label £30

Looking for relaxing activities in Buckingham? Join The Nimble Thimble for this hands-on class and learn the art of macramé, a textile craft where decorative knots are tied together using string or macramé cord.

Macramé allows you to create patterns to make everything from the classic plant hanger to bags, jewellery and wall hangings. In this workshop, you will use the four basic knots: lark's head, binding, square, and double half-hitch, and then make a beautiful wall hanging.

This workshop is suitable for adventurous beginners or those with some experience. We will practice the knots before creating your wall hanging, to ensure everyone is on the same page.

At the end of the class, take home your wall hanging, confidence and newfound skills to continue with this calming and inspiring DIY craft.

Note: Please check the date of your class to determine which wall hanging design you'll be creating on the day.

Late policy: If you arrive more than 20 minutes late you will not be able to take part in the class and you will not be able to move to another class or receive a refund. Classes start promptly.

The Nimble Thimble was started in 2009 by two friends Val Sandford and Jane Templeman who loved to craft but couldn’t find anywhere local.

From this small beginning The Nimble Thimble was born and proved to be a huge success. So much so that it quickly out grew its premises in Bridge Street and moved to a larger space in Well Street, where it can still be found today.

In 2020 Jane Hawkins took over and, together with Sara Blackwell and Kate Lowe, they aim to make The Nimble Thimble the one stop destination.

2021 saw a facelift and reorganisation of the shop layout. This created more space for new yarn and crafts as well as dressmaking fabrics for the first time.
