Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Teacher was really nice and friendly. All materials were provided and we loved them. This is the second class we’ve attended and it’s great value. We bought more materials and continued to make more at home.

My children and I thoroughly enjoyed the printing canvas workshop. The staff member who ran the course was friendly, helpful and talented sharing expertise and ideas with the children to create their own masterpieces. the teacher was vey good but I felt the table was too near the stairs for little ones.
The materials provided was very good and a good selection. My 3 year old Granddaughter was thrilled with her Easter Bonnet and I thought the class was good value for money and the whole thing was brilliant.

My daughter (12) wanted to learn to crochet - we tried some online videos but needed something more hands on so we booked a workshop. Rachel was amazing, she was so patient with us and really encouraging. She took us through step by step the different stitches and suggested different ways to hold the yarn when we got tangled! The handouts will be really helpful to refer to when we practice at home. Good beginner kit of yarn and hook to get us going included in the price which was great. Nice, relaxed environment. Highly recommended.

My husband bought this voucher for me for Christmas and I chose the class. I chose to learn how to read a pattern. Chloe was so kind and so helpful. She took all my measurements and showed me which measurements correlated to which area of the body. I took a pattern into the shop with me and we opened this out and Chloe helped with understanding how to find the right size to follow, explained a lot of the ‘jargon’ and then picked the tricker skill in my pattern (shirring) and showed me how to do this on the machine and then I had a go too. I left feeling super confident about starting my project, having never read a pattern before but being determined to start dress making for myself! Thank you so much to Chloe.

We enjoyed the activity but felt that we could have done more.
You get only one bowl to use for the marbling and that means you can only use those colours for all the baubles.
My daughter wasn’t happy with how her colours turned out but as there is a special solution in the mix you can’t pour away and start again.
As you get to the last baubles the paint is a bit too mixed and the colours not as good as when you began.

Not bad but the teacher seemed quite busy with the othe 2 participants and we ended up muddling through ourselves.
Once the teacher realised we needed some help she tried to help but the youngest in our group had lost interest by then.
We took materials home to have a go later.

Instructor was patient and worked well with quite a large group of beginners. She managed to get round everyone to ensure they could start off and move on to the next row. It was not easy as there was a mixed ability in the group, but we all managed achieve something. The venue and location was fine. I prefer to attend a class in person rather than one online. Only down side was it was cold and sitting for 1.5hrs it would have been more pleasant to be a bit warmer. The material provide was perfect for beginners to use. I will certainly do another class here.

Imogen was friendly and patient, she taught me how to crochet stitches as a complete novice. I was provided with two balls of yarn and hook in a tote bag. The venue was good, enough space and lighting.

On arrival, there was plenty of free parking outside the venue. On entering we were directed to the workshop area which i had booked for 3 grandchildren. They made 3 different Christmas decorations and the tutor was friendly and explained things very well. She encouraged everyone and helped out when required. i paid £5 per person for the event and the cost of the materials used was far in excess of this. The materials were good quality and plentiful and the finished items were very impressive. We were so pleased with the activity that we went home and made a load more as gifts. I would definitely book another workshop in the future.

Class was taught on a table at the top of the stairs instore we kept our coats on as chilly.

Lovely class. Lots of materials to use to make the decorations. My son made 3 decorations as he had time and they look beautiful. The trickiest one to make was the star so he needed some help as he's 4 but others in the group found this one harder too. The teacher was really helpful and cheerful. I would definitely do again and would recommend.

This has been absolutely terrific. The Hobbycraft lady who ran the class (apologies for.not knowing her name, but she had spectacular blue and purple hair) was so good with my two grandsons. Enjoyed the ceramic bauble marbling. Would have liked some metallic inks or some better colours. Not really long enough to get them dry before taking home had to use a heat gun in the end as the marbling solution very drippy

Just come home from the great star wreath course at Gloucester Hobbycraft. Took my daughter who is not a crafty person but she enjoyed the course and made a fabulous job of her wreath.
Chloe was a fantastic tutor and guided us through how to wire the different elements and place the cones and orange slices. We were both very pleased and happy with our pretty wreaths.

Hannah was clear about the instructions and did a demo to show the children what to do. We had enough materials each and time to complete the activity. We were not rushed and could spend all long as we wanted at the craft table. So the children engaged in the disco ball workshop from 4-12year old.

This is the second time I've booked a class for my son. He's now 4years old and definitely enjoyed it and was able to concentrate more this time so maybe this is a better age. There were lots of materials available to make your pumpkin and my son decided he'd like a rainbow/ patchwork style one. The lady taking the class was very helpful.and kept topping up materials. I still think for younger kids there should be kids tables/chairs as my son sat on my lap for this class. Also some more eyes would have been nice as it was limited per person so we bought some more on the way out. I would recommend this class and would also do it again as I think it would be nice to built up a pumpkin collection.

Chloe was brilliant at today's workshop.My kids were the only two attending but they both had the best time.The activity was something they both enjoyed and they loved that they could change the colours of the wool they were using as many times as they wished to make a lovely pattern on their own pen pots.Chloe kept them entertained throughout and they thoroughly enjoyed chatting to her.She was able to correct their mistakes when they went a bit wrong and aided them with any help they needed such as tying their knots.

Nothing was prepared. Time spent searching for various fittings. Ie spool arm, cover over bobbin, power source and peddle.
I had my machine in the car, so was able to lend the spool arm for the demonstrator machine.
Demonstrator was charming.

Would have been good to have some more pictures of things to make - perhaps printed a bit bigger. Maybe some top tips for making the clay. It wasn’t instructed as much as I expected.

This was the first class I’ve taken and it was the same for the instructor but she was excellent. She had lots of patience and didn’t mind how many times she had to repeat the instruction. We were provided with everything we needed together with written instructions and a bag to take it home in. I will definitely look for another project to attend.

I had a very good and informative one to one session with Sarah. I had been gifted an hours training on using a Cricut machine. I found it really interesting. Sadly the internet went down towards the end of the session, but I still managed to find out everything I needed to start to use the machine

I really enjoyed the class and, as well learning the basic stitches, I picked up lots of interesting tips. The teacher was knowledgeable, friendly and very very patient. She put everyone at ease and, with only four people in the class, she was also able to spend time with each of us on a 1-2-1 basis to answer our individual question. Materials were provided which we took away with us. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to trying out my new found skills.

My son (aged 4) had a brilliant time making his clay bat and ghost. Natalie was really friendly and gave really clear instructions which were well paced to ensure my son could follow along without me having to do too much for him! The workshop was well organised and a nice, 'have a go', atmosphere was created. I felt the cost of the workshop was very reasonable indeed and I will definitely continue to look for more workshops we can attend in the future!

I took 2 girls, aged 4 and 5, both had lots of fun playing with the air clay and were really happy with their finishing product. They couldn’t wait to show family at home! The teacher was great and had lots of experience. All materials were provided for. The course was free so definitely good value for money, but would look at booking other courses in the future (even at a cost) as it’s a good activity for kids to enjoy on the weekend.
Only 2 negatives - we couldn’t find where we needed to go, there were no directions in the store and we had to ask an employee. Secondly, teacher should be provided with at least 3 instruction books in a group of 5 as we had to share one booklet between all of us and we all needed to look at different pages. Otherwise a great experience!

the teacher was kind and curious about our work; the workshop was fun, we liked the theme but also being allowed to do what we liked.
Later we made undersea scenes to display our sea creatures. The best thing was making turtles and keeping the unused clay.

Chloe ran the class and was brilliant with the children. She kept instructions simple and made it fun! Each child was given 2 packs of clay and my little boy made 2 dinosaurs and 4 fossils and was chuffed he could bring it all home. I think the class was very good value for money. My boy doesn’t normally sit still to do crafts, so this really was a ‘let’s see how we get on’ and he stayed engaged with it for the whole hour and was smiling throughout! We ended up buying some of the clay to bring home and try out for ourselves. I will definitely look to book other classes!

A very calm workshop which is what i had hoped for. Lots of patient guidance. 90mins is great as its enough time to try and try and improve and try again. It's a great venue to be crafting in, surrounded by colours yarn ideas and materials. I was glad we were in the middle of everything and not tucked away in some backroom. Nice to have some music too. Loved having my own box of materials and info - also a good ice-breaker - the quality of the box and wrappings made the whole thing very good value for money. Mostly big thankyou to my tutor Natalie for endless patience, and for giving me some online links. After the workshop I made a few crochet pieces that were awful - tight and erratic - then today gave myself a good talking to, remembered Natialie's prompts, looked at the samples Natalie kindly gave me, and sat down and with my goody box made 5 real bunting flags. I feel I can now say "I can crochet!"

It was lovely to watch Lottie get creative with colours and learn what different colours mixed together made and experimenting herself. Venue was good, although a good 10 m-15 mins were spent trying to find a code to unlock a piece of equipment. Sarah was a very personable instructor and knew the subject well. However, it seems that she hadn't been informed that she was teaching a workshop & didn't even know what the workshop subject was, until we told her. This does not aide your staff or encourage professionalism. The hour flew by and Sarah was very helpful. Only cost £5, so was well worth it.

A lovely way to spend an hour. Chloe was a lovely teacher and had lots of clay monster examples to show us to give us some inspiration. My daughter said it was"really fun".
Only reason it wasn't 5 stars was because in previous Hobbycraft courses we've had a box of stuff normally to the value you pay. Today we didn't get that and only got to use some of the feathers and googly eyes the rest were taken away which was a shame.

The trainer listened to the problem that I am having with my machine and then we practiced on your machine which I found helpful. Then we practiced something else that I have not done before. All of this was a learning experience. I was also given advice on lots of different things. It was very useful.

I wanted to learn how to use the foil cutter tool and though the ipad wouldn’t support the Cricut programme so I was not able to see it in action, Chloe explained the process thoroughly, showed me how to attach the tool (easy) and wrote instructions for me. A very reassuring session - I should be able to use my laptop to access it.
She also explained how to import other designs into design space.
Chloe was a knowledgeable and patient tutor and I enjoyed my session with her. Thank you .

Teacher was lovely and explained and demonstrated everything the children needed to do clearly they got stuck in and enjoyed it. Kids could talk to her confidently and she was very nice and chatted away with them and helped with any tips etc they could do.
I think the things provided were good value for money and it's great to be able to do something which doesn't cost the earth and the kids enjoy too.
I would definitely do another workshop here with my children and will keep an eye out for upcoming workshops.

Very nice person took the class-it was just me so had personal tuition.
She showed me How to make a buttonhole using the sewing machine and was very encouraging about the buttonholes I then made.
Class only lasted a short while so felt it was expensive for £5 but it will be helpful for me as I have been on my sewing machine at home and have more confidence now to make a nice buttonhole.

So sorry I forget the young lady name who showed me and my sister what, how to use the kit and she was very good and demonstrated on all the equipment. She was cheerful and happy with us. The kit was very well thought out, and we used almost everything in the kit. The time limit is too short, especially when you're having fun. We had an amazing hr, neither of us had done anything like the Fluid Art before, enjoyed by us both. I can thank my daughter for booking this activity. Will definitely recommend and come back.

Chloe was the teacher and was good, coming up with ideas for filling the baubles. I liked the way the kit was packaged, and the contents. The only issue was that most of the contents wouldnt fit the baubles or domes, for example the coloured tree and cottage so I have empty baubles and leftover items so will need to purchase some stuff. One hour wasnt really long enough but I can continue at home.

I loved this class! The craft items arrived nicely packaged and the teacher explained what each item was. We then started the session. I was left to my own creativity but help or guidance was there when I needed it. I didnt feel stupid for asking questions or doing something not quite right as the teacher put me at ease right at the start of the class. The venue was ideal for a small party and it also meant we had the attention of the teacher if required. I loved that I could take home the craft items so that I can make some more cloches with a few purchases from Hobbycraft. I am booked in for some more classes and cant wait! Excellent value for money for complete beginners or those trying out something new in an environment where there is help if needed.
